Monitor Audio Bronze B1 Bookshelf speakersB1 is the most compact model of the modified Bronze series from Monitor Audio. High-tech drivers look very expensively. A favorable impression is deepened by well-damped body, carefully veneered with vinyl film - solidly made thing. The diffusers' material is the latest version of the branded MMP (Metal Matrix Polymer) composite; on the membrane there is a conical phase-correcting cap. The speakers are securely fastened by eight screws. A dome diaphragm (Seramic Soated Aluminium Magnezium) of the tweeter is covered with a metal grill - measure, already appreciated by many audio lovers. Like all representatives of Bronze series the magnetic systems of B1 woofers are closed by screens. Signal for woofer is processed by the first ordered filter, for tweeter - by the second. On the rear panel there is M6 threaded hole for wall mounting. Slightly increased brightness of Bronze B1 sound is accurately balanced by a slight accent in the upper bass, which is perfectly articulated, movable and clear. The system doesn't sink to dangerous LF-depth and does not try to embellish an image with high-frequency details. In the result, the sound is perceived to be balanced. Dynamical potential quite corresponds to beliefs about strong shelf system; the system painlessly copes with "strict" energetic modes, but increase of volume is not always equivalent to scale extension of musical performance. Monitor Audio Bronze B1 is a compact, neat, nicely sounding speaker system for small and medium-sized rooms. It expressively plays any music and, perhaps, only lovers of hard rock will want more aggressive system. There are no reasons, limiting its use in the system of home theatre. |
