Monitor Audio Bronze BR1 Bookshelf speakers

Small by sizes body of Monitor Audio Bronze BR1 is carefully reinforced, the tweeter is protected by metallic grill, terminals are comfortably placed and even plastic plugs for mounting mesh are selected by color just-in-tone to finish. Mid-woofer's diffuser, iridescent silver-milk metallic, looks very nice. The tweeter's dome is made of aluminum-magnesium alloy, which differs by high lightness and rigidity. However, the designers thought that rigidity was not enough and they additionally covered the dome with ceramics. The company doesn't disclose the secret of MF/LF-unit's diffuser (MMP II technology), but it is known that the process of plastic molding under pressure is used to get the diaphragm of a variable, pre-calculated thickness. Manipulating by the membrane's thickness, you can control some its properties, including damping of internal resonances. A pair of metallic terminals is comfortably located on a round back panel.

Sound. These modest by sizes shelf speaker systems play surprisingly large. Music, being associated with volumetric, large-scale sound (orchestra with choir and soloists, organ, concert rock) sounds convincingly, freely. The impression is created due to elastic, dense, with medium depth bass, high energy, proportional panorama. Sound perspective of Monitor Audio Bronze BR1 is close, articulation in the whole range is sharpen, sometimes too much. Tonal balance is smooth, flavor is slightly cool. While playing acoustic music you pay attention to a little metallic color in middle and high registers that, however, most of people will rather perceive as the feature than disadvantage.
