Q Acoustics Concept 20 Bookshelf speakers

The release of these shelf Q Acoustics monitors marked the introduction of a new series Concept. The main feature of the model in the innovative design of the case (proprietary technology Gelcore), which is a sandwich from two independent boxes, separated by a damping compound. As a result, the vibrations are almost completely damped out and do not affect the sound. Loudspeakers have a bass-reflex design, allowing you to get a more convincing bass in a small volume. The lower band is voiced by a 125-mm driver with a lightweight composite diffuser, and the upper frequencies are reproduced by an inch tweeter of a branded design with a fabric dome. The bands are divided into 2900 Hz, and the crossover itself is maximally transparent for the audio signal and provides the possibility of a two-cable connection to the amplifier.

The sound of Q Acoustics Concept 20 can be described as quite dynamic and relaxed. In tonal terms it is neutral and at the same time rich in details. The middle is worked out very skillfully, but a number of timbres of familiar instruments are presented somewhat coldly. The percussion bass is moderately deep, clearly focused and fast. First of all, I was pleased with the absence of extraneous overtones and the confident operation of the tweeter at increased volume levels. The scene is wide and carefully arranged, but the space slightly lacks in depth.
