Q Acoustics 2020 Bookshelf speakers

In just a few years of its existence the English Q Acoustics has got the status of an innovative company, presenting several successful series of loudspeakers. The original design approach was also manifested in the shelf systems 2020. For example, two pairs of terminals for connecting the speaker cable are "hidden" in a special niche located in the lower part of the body. This was not done by chance - ideally, these monitors should be installed on proprietary 2000ST racks, in which there is a channel for hidden cable installation.

To fight against standing waves, the bodies are devoid of right angles and carefully plugged from the inside. As for the drivers, there are two of them: a 125-mm woofer and an inch fabric tweeter with a ferromagnetic voice coil cooling. Both drivers are designed by Q Acoustics engineers.

Q Acoustics 2020 demonstrate a fairly linear sound with precise high frequencies and a well-developed midpoint. The resolution is high, and there is no lack of detailing even in the most complex recordings of symphonic music. The tonal composition of natural instruments is transmitted accurately enough with only slight omissions, quite excusable for inexpensive acoustics. Vocals are very natural, perfectly articulated and devoid of extraneous coloring. The dynamics is moderately developed for shelf loudspeakers, and the compression is not felt even at close to critical volume levels. The sound stage seems to be the densest in the central part; localization on its flanks is not so accurate. As for the scale - it is held very well.
