Dynaudio Excite X14 Bookshelf speakersSmall shelf speaker systems X14 refer to the updated Excite line, the older representatives of which we have already tested (X34, X36, X38). In comparison with analogs of the last generation these monitors have noticeably risen in the quality of finish (now all the body's facets are surfaced by natural veneer) and received a list of internal upgrades. In addition to the optimized crossover, excluding sharp dips of impedance, they have high-class branded emitters with improved functional specifications. For example, very light sound coil, wound by aluminum wire, cast basket and powerful neodymium magnetic system are used in low-frequency driver with the diffuser made of MSP material. Some of these solutions can be also met in the construction of the tweeter with almost weightless cloth dome. In addition, among advantages of new heads the developers state an increased dynamics of playing and high overload capacity. In terms of sound the speaker systems Dynaudio Excite X14 differ by percussive bass, which having not the most impressive depth amazes by elaboration of the structure. Mid-range shows a perfect separation of the instruments and carefully built tonal crossfades. The timbres of natural instruments are maximally close to natural and the voices are full of special sensuality. The upper register is in the strict accordance with the branded concept. The main part of the band is drawn in with pinpoint accuracy, but closer to the top edge you can note a small rolloff in the tweeter's activity. Sound scene is beyond the praise. On high-quality recordings the images are not only truly holographic, but amazingly somatic. |
