Dynaudio Focus 140 Bookshelf speakers

In Dynaudio Focus 140 speaker system the advanced Esotec+ drivers play sound - a fabric tweeter with very lightweight aluminum coil and 165-mm woofer with the diffuser made of MSP polymer and powerful magnetic system. The usage of 75-mm coil in the woofer, wound on the Kapton frame, provided this driver excellent characteristics of linearity throughout the range of input powers. The separation of bands is made by traditional for Dynaudio the simplest filers of the first order. The bodies are made of MDF and natural veneer, have typical bevels on the faceplate and differ by slight skewness of side walls. The bass-reflex port is placed on the back panel. A pair of foam stopper plugs are included, which allow to reduce the return in bass, arising while the installation of loudspeakers close to wall.

I've already had the deal with shelf Focus 110 and floor Focus 220. And Focus 140 did not disappoint at all - it seems that the whole Focus series of the Danes turned out to be very musical. The sensitivity of these systems is decreased, you will need an amplifier with high output power and good control of bass, but if this condition is observed, you'll get an accurate and well-elaborated playing.

The stage is very stable. Localization seems to be not too sharp as in other monitors, but imaginary sources of sound have the correct scale and dense body. The sense of materiality arises.

Bass lines are laid out as if on a platter. Everything is very clear. Attack is brilliant. Each instrument is recognized easily and without mistakes. Hence there is a realistic, even sometimes scaring by its naturalness sound. The overall tonal pattern is smooth, there is a slight accent at low tops and a slight deficit of colors in the upper middle. The performers as if were moved to hall of smaller studio. But these deviations are small - they are not perceived as coloration. Musical handwriting is very pure and ordered. Well, only at the highest frequencies Dynaudio Focus 140 has a slight shortage of informational content in the playback.
