Impact series is positioned by the manufacturer as a universal solution for a reasonable price. The older, 12-inch model is equipped with a driver with a two-layer voice coil and a powerful magnet. The diffuser is directed forward, and the port of the bass-reflex is brought out to the bottom wall of the case, therefore it is impossible to install the sub without legs.

The neat case is covered with high-quality film, the front panel sparkles with polished piano varnish. The quality of damping can be judged by the mass of the subwoofer - more than 16 kg. The power of the amplifier is far from record (peak value of 250 W), but it has an MDP system that extends the dynamic range. The amplifier is constantly in Standby mode and is activated when a signal is received at any of the inputs.

All musical recordings performed by Velodyne Impact 12 gain the second breathe and a fair amount of expression. The sound captures by relaxedness, power and ultimate concreteness. A subwoofer is able to create an avalanche of sounds, each of which is easily distinguishable by ear. But there are also disadvantages - delay of the attack of percussion instruments and some loss of intelligibility at high volume. But there are no case resonances, up to the limiting levels, as well as side-tones of the bass-reflex.

In a movie, Velodyne Impact 12 effortlessly recreates truly global special effects. Shots and explosions gain real scale and content, and even in the infra-low region, sounds of various origins and textures can be easily differentiated. The only advice to future owners: the abundance of the infrasound component can cause room resonances, therefore, to get a clear sound picture you should not go easy on the volume in the bass channel.
