Velodyne Impact 6.5 SubwooferVelodyne Impact 6.5 subwoofer is the youngest in the Impact series, but it also has great potential. A real monster, capable of developing 300 watts of power, is hidden in a miniature case. The 6.5-inch driver works with an additional 200-mm passive driver. Both drivers have anodized aluminum membranes, and the active driver is equipped with a 2-inch voice coil and an almost two-kilogram magnetic system. The switching capabilities are comprehensive, which allows you to integrate Impact 6.5 into almost any system. The phase is switched only to reverse, but the cutoff frequency is tuned over a fairly wide range of 50 - 200 Hz. The stated lower playback limit is also impressive - 38 Hz at -3dB. Despite its modest dimensions, Velodyne Impact 6.5 is characterized by free dynamics and speed. The depth of reproduced bass for such a volume is completely unexpected. The sound in the vast majority of cases is extremely correct and clear, with a carefully worked out attack and natural aftertones. Case sounds were not noted even at very high levels. A very valuable property of the subwoofer is an enviable timbral variety and excellent resolution even at low volume. The subwoofer withstood cinema tests no less steadily. We especially liked the accurate work not only with individual low-frequency effects, but also with various background sounds that exagerate the atmosphere of what is happening. |
