Velodyne SPL-8U Subwoofer

SPL-8U represents a new generation of compact Velodyne subwoofers, continuing the successful traditions of the predecessors. As its name implies, an 8-inch driver is taken as a basis in a carefully damped closed body. The electronic part includes a powerful amplifier (up to 2400 watts in peak) and a section of digital signal processing of the latest generation. A seven-band automatic room acoustics correction system with a remote microphone and a number of user presets are implemented on a powerful DSP and allows you to adjust the playback character to the phonogram genre. A small remote control is included. Both linear inputs and outputs and high-level connectors are provided for connection.

With a small volume of the body you get a fairly average in depth bass, but nevertheless sufficient for a small room. Due to the extensive settings you can choose any character of sound for a specific recording. For example, in Rock mode the bottoms are slightly pinched in depth, but are maximally dynamic and accurate. The Jazz preset adds a bit more roundness to sound, slightly loosening the severity of the controls at the bottom of the range. In the Movies mode membrane's stroke is maximal - this allows the Velodyne SPL-8U subwoofer to intelligently operate with different sound effects. In the Game mode, priority is given to individual percussion sounds, the return, at the same time, and the depth of the subwoofer's performance are slightly reduced.
