Paradigm Atom v6 Bookshelf speakers

Paradigm does not confuse the buyer by innumerable variety of the series. Whose, who can afford highly expensive speaker systems, chose from Millenia, Studio and Signature series. And if he needs something less expensive, he turns to speaker systems with simpler design and plastic diffusers of speakers from Cinema, Monitor and SE series. No, surely, diffusers are not made of polyethylene, but from lightweight die-cast copolymer, but it looks very similar. Such extraordinary diffuser is also used for the speaker of our tested model - Atom V6 from Monitor series. The company's habit to equip the speakers with huge magnets, increasing sensitivity and power of the system (as well as weight), doesn't come by this speaker system too. The speaker's basket is not simple, but pressurized from polymer, reinforced by glass (GRIP). The tweeter is also made to be extremely efficient: the dome is made of solid and lightweight titanium (H-PTD) and magnetic liquid helps to remove the heat and at the same time to concentrate magnetic stream near sound coil. A small horn helps the tweeter to distribute the radiation power uniformly in all directions. The bass-reflex port is on the back wall. Crossover is assembled from the selected, close to real nominal components. Highly qualitative film capacitors and ceramic resistors are used for this. A pair of terminals is prudently protected by transparent plastic caps. A couple of holes for mounting the speaker system on a stand or wall (fixing system is not included) are between terminals and horn.

Paradigm Atom V6 showed well-balanced sound. One of the advantages is traditionally for Paradigm a really wide dynamical range: the listener perceives different music in its all dynamical diversity. Other branded features of the Canadian system are high power and perfect lower case. Bass is not deep (corresponds to the standards for shelf speaker systems), but beautifully organized and with very fast pulse response. The playing of low drums, accented electronic bass creates especially great impression. Small speaker systems play freely, clearly, articulated and strictly tonally. Slight simplifications are noticeable in transfer of timbres of acoustic musical instruments. The overall impression from the model is very pleasant.
