Amplifier T.A.C. V-60

It has become quite commonplace that the company Vincent (and the closely related TAC this rule can be extended without too much exaggeration) different special views on the design of components - you can argue about it, but it looks devices at least remembered. This case is no exception. T.A.C. offered its own solution - a two-story structure a la "gazebo in the classical style": with the lower part of the all-aluminum-foundation and the top light "colonnade" - four tall cylindrical legs, on which rests the upper thick aluminum panel with three square windows on groups of lamps. Sides and rear "gazebo" as the slot on top, completely tightened fine steel mesh. The front panel of clear acrylic bears the engraved company logo, a lighted end LEDs - an old trick, still not lost originality.

Amplifier is built on the push-pull circuit with output stages operating in class AB. All twelve lamps and transformers are mounted on a common aluminum sheet about a centimeter thick. The power transformer is located right in the center, and the output are mounted closer to the front side (offhand that looks somewhat illogical in terms of internal trace). They are made from taps on the load speaker terminals 4 and 8 ohms. At the back there are four single-ended inputs and one output on record. All adjustments are automatic modes lamps. Used lamps - Russian Electro-Harmonix, the pair of input voltage of the amplifier, a pair of driver and eight output (in the quartet of the canal). The output stages operate octal tetrodes 6CA7EH. Miniature double triode 6922EH and 6CG7EH used as input and Driver respectively.

In the manner similar to the CD-player TAC C-35, V-60 amplifier sounds very rhythmically and vigorously in terms of pace, with no signs of lethargy or relaxation. By the degree of self-discipline lowercase, including a complex organ, perhaps, the second test after our winner. However, corporate identity extends to all aspects of sound, and therefore, as before, the tonal richness of natural instruments and voices is somewhat lacking. On the one hand, in the handwriting of absolutely no harshness or linearity, supply musical material rather soft and delicate, gently rounded, rather than sharp and accentuated. On the other hand, execution records Symphony Orchestra or dramatic academic vocal would like to add a full-bodied, and saturation, and that sounds a bit ephemeral and dimmed, as if the sound threw light smoky veil. However, even with this in mind, the basic palette amplifier is unlikely to change with the "pastel" to "an orgy of colors".
