Tannoy Revolution 1001 Subwoofer

Tannoy Revolution 1001 subwoofer has a long-stroke 10-inch driver of the original design with a powerful magnetic system and a special suspension. The bass-reflex pipe is bent, which makes it possible to ideally place it inside the case and reduce extraneous sounds.

The power of the amplifier is only 160 W, but the developers claim that it confidently controls the movement of the diffuser at any signal amplitude. The built-in second-order crossover is tunable within 50 - 200 Hz, the phase is inverted by 180 degrees. Linear and high level inputs are provided, as well as a 12-volt trigger for remote activation.

The sound of the subwoofer on the musical phonograms made a strong impression. Despite the low power of the amplifier, the bass is superbly articulated and very fast. The rhythmic structure is conveyed precisely, with real dynamics. There is a little lack of energy in the lower register, but we noticed it only on classical organ works. And the bass depth is not too prominent, although the declared by the manufacturer value of 35 Hz in a typical room is not in doubt. Case sounds are absent at the highest volume levels, but slight side tones of the bass-reflex can be noticed. In reality, few will be on the edge of such sophisticated experiments at home.

In the theater system, Tannoy Revolution 1001 also put a hold face on - it confidently supported modern blockbusters, demonstrating a convincing, even exquisite sound. If you do not chase after excessive bass depth and record sound pressure, you can get a truly audiophile reproduction of sound effects - not too disturbing imagination, but very, very intelligent.
