Mirage M-290is Bookshelf speakers

M-290 is a two-way shelf speaker system. Strict, black, streamlined (signs of struggle with diffraction) - it is immediately attract your attention, bringing the feeling of a significant thing. The dimensions are 21x406x267 mm, the grills are removable. A titanium dome of high-frequency head has the diameter of 2,54 cm. The size of medium woofer is 16,5 cm. The system is of bass reflex type; the bass reflex port is placed on the front panel. There is a possibility of bi-wiring connection; the terminals and jumper are gilt. The recommended range of frequencies is 15-125 W. The type of frequency response enhances the feeling appearing at the first glance at the speaker systems. The system is undoubtedly one of A level students in its class. AFC unevenness nowhere exceeds ±3 dB. The bottoms are very good - cutoff frequency is 37 Hz, medium and high frequencies are just perfect. Flat, almost monotonous rise in the high-range area gives a special smell to sound, the sound space is if becomes cleaner. In general, some reserve in high frequency is always useful (that can't be said always with certainly about low frequencies). The cutoff frequency for the tops is 22 kHz. Almost all data, given in the system's technical passport, are coordinated well with the results of our measurements. The sensitivity of the speakers is about 89 dB per 1 meter. The system doesn't have an excessive orientation too. So, there won't be any difficulties with the provision of stereo effect. Nominal input resistance is 8 Ohm. Setting frequency of the bass reflex is in the range from 30 to 50 Hz. The crossover frequency of loudspeakers is 1,8 kHz.

We will note a comfort, natural sounding. It is felt that nonlinear distortions are small. The systems works excellently in all genres: from classics to etude, and it draws the low-frequency part of musical specter especially well. Probably, some listeners may think that underlining of medium frequencies is insufficient, but this is easily improved by different tonal settings in the electrical path.
