B&W 685 Bookshelf speakers

A 16.5-cm midwoofer with a Kevlar diffuser and a cast basket work in a neat small-sized case. Due to the use of a proprietary Flowport bass-reflex, it was possible to reduce turbulent side-tones. The kit also has an original plug that allows you to completely or partially plug out the bass-reflex port. A tweeter with an inch aluminum dome and a neodymium magnet is installed in the Nautilus pipe. The small distance between the drivers made it possible to increase the coherence of the radiation, and the minimalist crossover scheme provides for reducing phase shifts between the bands.

When you turn B&W 685 on, you will immediately pay attention to the transfer of space. It is really three-dimensional, even with some separation of sources in depth. The tonal balance is even, although sometimes you may feel its distortions in the upper middle. On female vocals, you can notice a light color; wind instruments slightly stand out against the general background. The bass is very deep for such a volume of the body and is well articulated, especially if the speakers are mounted on heavy racks. The upper range is moderately transparent, without aggression. The dynamics are beautiful, loud sounds are transmitted without compression and noticeable distortion.
