Neat Acoustics Petite SX Bookshelf speakersThe first generation of Petite was presented in 1989 and since then the main concept of the loudspeakers hasn't been changed. In the latest version of these babies (and the sizes of Petite SX fully corresponds to title) there 6,5-inch bass heads with paper diffuser and a fabric dome tweeter of an inch caliber. According to the British engineers' opinion, HF-emitter largely forms the overall impression from sound of the system and determines the accuracy of space building. Therefore, one of the main features of the tweeter are free dynamics, tonal balance and increased resistance to overloads. We should also say about the design of bodies. They have not usual proportions and two different-sized air ports on the back wall. According to calculations, this must minimize possible turbulent side-tones, especially at high volume levels. The character of Neat Acoustics Petite SX is perceived to be a bit smoothed at the edges of the range, and the maximal energetics is in the middle and in the upper bass. Extremely clear middle, perfectly elaborated by timbres, impresses most of all. Voice range is natural and clear. You may complain of not too high macro-dynamics and relatively modest depth of low frequencies. However, in most cases this feature doesn't violate the comfort of listening. The space is skillfully formed and a listener is left alone with a strikingly natural images. |
