Phase Technology PC 1.5 Bookshelf speakers

Phase Technology PC 1.5 monitors differ from the usual shelf speaker systems by both external look and construction. We will note unusual form of the body with beveled front wall and rounded sidewalls - this is made to fight against standing waves and reflections from the front panel. The construction of midbass driver is also unusual. It has flat diffuser, made by the principle of sandwich from Kevlar, fiberglass and the branded RPF composite. It is mounted on quite rigid NBR suspension that provides a piston kind of displacement. Slightly higher there is an inch tweeter with a soft dome and diffusive nozzle.

The developers pay main attention to maximal transparency of playback of their system. Tonal balance is perceived by ear to be quite neutral, without significant distortions. Phase Technology PC 1.5 perfectly cope with the upper range - discants are incredibly natural, without slightest signs of synthetic coloring. Low-frequency attack is accurate, but the lower bass is perceived slightly monotone. At high volume the sound becomes a bit coarser. Meanwhile, arising slight compression does not very affect the comfort of listening. Sound stage opens with great volume, but is slightly reduced in sizes.
