Wharfedale Diamond 8.1 Bookshelf speakers

Diamond 8 series includes two floor models, a center channel speaker and two shelf speakers, the smaller of which is Diamond 8.1. The quality of drivers does not cause doubts. The bass/midrange diffuser is woven from kevlar fiber. A magnetic tweeter system is neodymium. Separate connection of lanes is provided. At first, apparently due to our attitude to a certain stereotype that was generated during the test hearings, the sound merits of Wharfedale Diamond 8.1 did not adequately impress the experts, but after deepened acquaintance with them, the calm attitude towards Diamond 8.1 underwent major changes. It carefully leads the line of top bass, gives a picture of the content of the middle segment of the low-frequency register, timely responds to the attack. All reproducible low-frequency components sound clear, and there is no characteristic darkening in the lower middle. Vocals are vividly, naturally and intonationally rich. The high frequencies are clean, with a comfortable air content, but on the whole, slightly softened. However, the timbre structure of most acoustic and electronic instruments is shown truthfully. Difficult symphonic and choral works sounded surprisingly decently. Wharfedale Diamond 8.1 coped well with the transfer of dynamically inhomogeneous musical fragments: the sound is not broken down, entire registers do not disappear into nothing, as often happens with loudspeakers from this price category. Diamond 8.1 is quite versatile and as a musical pair, and as satellite speakers for home theater. Design is reliable, well balanced. Compact loudspeakers with a bass-reflex port on the front panel can be placed even in the furniture wall.
