Morel Solan Bookshelf Bookshelf speakersThe construction of monitors is based on own-produced drivers (we'll remind you that Morel is one of the most reputable companies in the production of drivers). High-frequency section is an inch tweeter with a soft dome made of the impregnated fabric. Due to the number of proprietary know-how, the tweeter almost doesn't have spurious emissions near upper border that beneficially affects the frequency of HF range. Interesting moment: to protect the membrane there is an unusual grill that looks like lotus flower (Lotus Grille). The woofer's diffuser with the diameter of 130 mm is made of cellulose, reinforced with polymer coting. The driver is loaded on a small back bass-reflex, extending the lower border of playback to 50 Hz. Some solutions from the top Fat Lady, improving phase coherence of drivers, are introduced into the scheme of crossover (crossover frequency is 2200 Hz). Perhaps, exactly for this reason bi-wiring is not provided here. Morel Solan Bookshelf differs by a noble sound with excellent articulation of MIDs. Generally, it is extremely balanced tonally. Vocal parts are played with proper expression and subtle crossfades, without audible simplifications; sibilants are skillfully controlled. Bass potential is quite acceptable for the monitors of such a modest volume. At the same time the frequencies are well structured and rapid-fire. The tweeter plays its section very delicately. Discants are accurate. Sound stage is surprisingly three-dimensional and built according to all canons. |
