Technics SB-M300 Bookshelf speakers

A three-way speaker system Technics SB-M300 looks very massively with a decorative panel and also without it. I must say that it weights "massively" too - 11 kg at the sizes of 222x367x335 mm. An interesting principle of double dynamic stress is used in the system: two rectangular (18cm) massive reflector are excited by a pair of low-frequency speakers with a diameter of 14 cm. One reflector is placed on the back panel of the speaker system and is completely opened, and the second one is hidden by the faceplate and is connected with external space through gaps. There are low-frequency reflectors (one is directed on the front, the other - on the back reflector) between the reflectors. A mid-range conical loudspeaker with 14cm diffuser, made of composite mica, and the tweeter with a dome diffuser, made of pure mica with the diameter of 2.5 cm, are placed on the faceplate. Judging by the frequency response, up to 45° from the axes of speakers, the system is almost not directed, so a wide area of reliable stereo effect is guaranteed. Mica tweeter provides a deep penetration into the ultrasonic area (up to 45 kHz by the level -16dB) and it gives a very good uniformity of the response. However, the low-frequency area could look more truly... The sensitivity of the speaker system is 85 dB; input power is up to 120W. According to the manufacturer's information the nominal inductive resistance of the system is 8 Ohm.
