REL S/3 Subwoofer

REL S/3 subwoofer is distinguished by a fashionable lacquered case, decorated with aluminum inserts and supported by the original legs with the company logo. The design is based on the principle of a passive membrane, which not only expands the frequency range, but also effectively damps the main driver. The active driver, mounted in front, has a 10-inch diffuser made of aluminum alloy, and a passive radiator similar in size and made of carbon fiber. The sub has an effective amplifying module of D class, giving out up to 400W. Particular attention was paid by the developers to the accuracy of signal filtering. For this, the crossover section is made by an ultra-short circuit with a minimum signal delay. The REL S/3 can simultaneously use linear and high-level switching with separate level control for each. Moreover, as an option, the manufacturer offers a proprietary digital Longbow transmitter for wireless connection.

The characteristic features of the sound of REL subwoofers are also completely suitable for describing the work of our model. First of all, it is worth to note the correctness of the rhythmic structure transfer, which together with very high detailing gives an extremely natural bass. Its depth is sufficient for the reproduction of any phonogram, and the ability to produce infra-low notes is very useful in home cinema systems. Subjectively, it seemed that the built-in amplifier could be more powerful. In general, this does not affect the reproduction, and you don't feel the sense of a powerful internal force, rather, a hint at its presence.
