Acoustic Energy 308 Subwoofer

Acoustic Energy 308 is a regular cube (edge length is 360 mm), which has a decent 30-cm driver. It is directed down and works in the closed acoustic design. In contrast to more usual bass-reflex, such solution promises better pulse response that firstly affects the speed of bass. The driver's diffuser is made of pressed cellulose and equipped not only with high-temperature sound coil of the increased size, but also powerful magnetic system. The built-in amplifier provides up to 500W of undistorted power that is more than enough to sound quite large by area rooms. Linear input terminals and also the separate LFE jack for work in the systems of home theatre are provided for connection to the amp. In addition to standard controls of cutoff frequency and level, we will note useful possibility of smooth turn of phase.

Acoustic Energy 308 sub shows not radically deep, but accurate and well controlled bass. Due to the closed design, it differs by great fire-rate, accurate and sharp instrumental attack. Sound resolution is very high literally in the entire working range. Bodies' side tones were not detected. However, with volume increase the structure of low frequencies can be slightly simplified, perhaps, due to the lack of built-in amplifier's power. Meanwhile, in most typical situations there are no claims to dynamic part.
